3 Ways to Add Emotion to Your Web Copy
Solving the customer’s problems to improve conversions is usually recommended. But using logic to appeal to your customers is only half the battle won. Using emotion tends to be more effective since we base our decisions on them.
So, with that said, here are 3 ways to add emotion to your web copy:
1: Use Hot Buttons in Your Copy
Certain topics cause us to respond more than others. They’re called hot buttons. This is an excellent tool to use if you want to increase conversions. Some of these include competition, love, time-saving, trust, duty, pride, honour, beauty and trendsetting.
In other words, think about what you should offer them from an emotional standpoint. This should go hand in hand with practical information as well.
2: Be Authentic
Customers don’t like hype. This is because of the trend of over-promising and under-delivering . Instead, be authentic. Of course, adding emotion to your content without substance is a way to lose trust. Make sure you express your belief and excitement in the product. Us emotional trigger words where necessary.
3: Tell a Story
Telling a story about your business will help you connect with a reader. For example, it could be how your business made a positive impact on a customer. Or even saved another business from ruin.
It could even be an inspiring one. It might involve details about the food drive you participated in. Or even the work you did to help those in need after the hurricane or flood. Building trust is what you should consider.
