Social Media Marketing through Pinterest
Pinterest is rarely the first network that comes to mind when thinking about social media marketing. Marketers tend to give Facebook and Twitter more attention in that aspect. Pinterest, in the coming years, could define itself as a good marketing platform especially for mobile marketing campaigns. The network intends to increase its overall ads offerings in 2015 with their main target being mobile marketing firms. The Pinterest mobile app format is already in the good books of its users.
Pinterest’s strategy regarding social media marketing is mainly focused on the user experience. They aspire to present their users with effective marketing tools that would be useful to them rather than “turning off” users with irrelevant ads. By limiting the expansion of the ads content on the platform, the network is risking potential declines in profits. They are, however, willing to take this risk in order to maintain the same quality of user experience on the site and on its mobile app.
The social network is attempting to boost revenue from mobile advertising by making use of its Promoted Pins in a useful and responsible way. The company thus intends to raise its revenue on Promoted Pins by 300 percent by the end of 2015.
2015 will tell us how Pinterest has fared in terms of its new advertising initiatives. Until now, the network has proved to be promising in terms of its CTR rate and user engagement and has got significant appeal from both the marketers and its members.
